Day 33: How It Went Down

visit from Omotola

With the Housemates got an informative and enriching visit from Omotola on behalf of One Africa and even took a moment to discuss the challenge of a lack of access to quality education for young girls in developing countries.

Afterward they settled down in smaller groups to chat (and vent) about some of their frustrations with their fellow Housemates. TBoss and Debie-Rise revealed that they both weren't such big fans of Ese, dubbing her "a lousy person." We wonder what they'd think if they knew that she had purposefully been put into the House to disrupt relationships and cliques in the House. Would they review their opinion of her if they knew it was all for show?

The Housemates spontaneously performed their traditional dances again, showcasing their Proudly Naija spirit and unity for all to see. All were reminiscing, mostly kindly about Gifty and what she would have said if she was there. Some whiled away their time by playing cards. The Housemates turned to subjects from Home, obviously missing their creature comforts and reminiscing about their lives outside of the House. It all must seem so distant to them now that they are far into the game.

Bassey talked about going into the Live Show this past weekend and how it felt while Jon, Kemen and TBoss made bead bangles. Uriel weighed in on the Ese bashing by telling Marvis, Efe and Bassey that she distracted her. While all of this was happening, ThinTallTony jumped into bed with TBoss and she discussed Romanian myths with him and Bisola. With the Housemates all relaxing so much, soon the gentle sound of snoring filled the air as the Housemates took advantage of their downtime before the evening's Fiday Night Arena Games.

Soon it was almost time for the Housemates to prepare for entering the Gladiatorial Arena for their Friday Night Games and ThinTallTony quipped to Efe that he was going to win the puzzle as tomorrow is going to be his birthday. True to his word, ThintallTony had to beat off stiff competition again from what is fast becoming his main physical rival in the House, Kemen who set the early time to beat. All of the housemates did a fantastic job, with Bassey setting the pace at a creditable 02:49 minutes but soon his time was eclipsed first by a determined and pumped up Kemen at 02:24 minutes. The best was yet to come, however, as the soon-to-be birthday boy, ThinTallTony made good on his promise and he obliterated a dejected Kemen's time with an unassailable time of 01:56, thus redressing last weeks loss to Kemen. Marvis came in, hot on his heels with a time that impressed Biggie of 02:10 minutes and TBoss also did well.

It was announced to an ecstatic Arena that ThinTallTony had won and he had to immediately choose a Housemate to share his prize with. In a show of largesse, he picked a visibly delighted Ese. Biggie was generous with his praise and announced to the rest of the Housemates that because Biggie was so impressed with their entire week's performances, they could all go to the Store Room and collect some rewards.

With their cold Legend beers in their hands, they wasted no time in getting undressed and into the jacuzzi. The drinks flowed and the conversation got more and more rowdy. With this week's theme of Fears, Phobias and Superstitions almost done, the Housemates seemed to pull together in a show of unity and oneness. They are still under the impression that some of them could evicted since Biggie told them he was deciding who would be nominated this week. What will happen once the realise they have two agent provocateurs in their midsts? Keep watching!

Tune into the Live Eviction show this Sunday at 7pm WAT to see all the drama unfold as Biggie reveals the latest in a long list of twists and turns that are taking a serious toll on some of the Housemates. It's only Day 33 and we already have so much to talk about.
